Summer Chilli Cook-off

Hi guys, we have a special guest post today from a friend of mine at the ea tapped out forums. His name is eliansukke180 and I hope you enjoy the post. I’ll be back in a bit with some more posts and updates for the site

A lot of people have been contemplating about a summer-event. One of these idea’s was the Chili cook-off event. Really nice idea to keep us busy during the summer so i decided to give that some more thought.

The original chili cook off comes from the season 8 episode: El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Homer). In this episode, Homer eats several Merciless Peppers of Quetzalacatenango, also known as the Guatemalan Insanity Peppers and hallucinates his way through the dessert. He ultimately ends up at the E.A.R.L. Lighthouse, believing its his only friend until Marge shows up.

There are some really nice idea’s for this event so let’s take a look at some of them:
The event would start off with a conversation between Homer and Marge resulting in a 24 hr task for the both of them in which Marge attempts to distract Homer as much as possible. When the 24 hour task is over Homer finally sniffs out the chili-cook-off and Marge will reply that she was trying to keep Homer away from it because he obviously will get drunk again!
After this the chili cook off event kicks off!
You need to build the Springfield cook off fairground ( or whatever you call that market ). The objective might be that you will need to gather chili-peppers. When you’ve gathered enough peppers you can make a chili. Or, just gather the peppers, like the community and personal prizes idea. Peppers could simply appear at random places or you could whack coyote’s to get them, like the bunny/egg tapping.
The next tasks could be for the whole Simpsons family: Homer will have a 4 hour brag about eating peppers task. And the rest of the family will attend the cook off. The rest of the quest line could contain Homer’s hallucination and contains tasks such as “drink a lot of beer to cool the hot pepper”( 4 hours ), “Climb the imaginary ( or real if we get to build it ) mayan temple” ( 12 hours ), “Stroll the golf course” ( 8 hours ), “Have a meltdown in the lighthouse” ( 12 hours ) and “reunite with Marge” ( 24 hours ). These are all pepper-earning tasks.
Other people with tasks that will earn peppers could be:
– Chief Wiggum: Cook Guatemalan Insanity Pepper chili
– Professor Frink: Create virtual chili machine
– Ned Flanders: freak out Homer
– Marge: Look for Homer
– Bart: Wear his “time for chili” hat
– Lisa: Prepare chili for vegetarians
– Nelson: Cook Muntz chili: it takes weeks to cook muntz!

Personally I would really like to see the personal and community prize system returning instead of another wheel. That was a much better overall rewarding system and a lot more fair to all players/
Here are some ideas for the prizes or even stuff that can be bought with money or even donuts
– Chili-cook off stand ( they could come in different colours )
– Crashed ship with hotpants, can be placed near the lighthouse
– Hotpants!
– Coyote as playable character
– Giant snake
– Giant butterfly
– Giant turtle
– The Mayan temple
– Various chili cook off decorations such as banners, flags etc.
– A trophy for ‘Best Chili’
– Golf course
The coyote:

Bart’s hat:

The hotpants floating in the sea:

There are a lot more things that could be put in this event of course! I tried to make a list of the most important ones.
Hope you guys like my ideas. Let me know if you want to add or remove something!
Thanks for reading and thanks to TSTO fanworld for the guest-spot!

Right here is the perfect blog for everyone who really wants to understand this topic.
You understand so much its almost hard to argue with you
(not that I actually will need to…HaHa). You certainly put a fresh spin on a subject that has been discussed for decades.
    Wonderful stuff, just great!
