Simpsons Randomness: LEGO Collectible Minifigures Wave 11: The Simpsons Review

Hi all!

In today’s edition of Simosons Randomness I’m going to be reviewing the highly anticipated LEGO Simpsons collectible Minifigures. I picked up 5 blind bags and, thankfully, got 5 different characters.

image

image

The figures come individually in little blind bags. They’re a nice blue colour with the recognisable clouds in the background. On the front there is a group shot of Ralph, Scratchy, Marge, Apu, Krusty, Mr. Burns, Homer, Bart and Ned. There’s nothing on the back except from some copyright details.

image

image

Included in every bag is a sheet of paper that has a checklist with all 16 minifigures. Of course, I’d really like to get the Ralph but to be honest- I want them all! On the flip side there is some instructions showing you how to build these immensely complicated LEGO men.

The first one I got was…

image Maggie!

image

This little Maggie is absolutely adorable! She has a really nice head piece, it has her blue bow painted in as well as her red dummy and her over- sized eyes.

image

She he also comes with a little Momo the bear piece which really adds to the figure. Also included is a black stand which will help you stand them up on a shelf.

image

image

Here are some pictures of the front and back of Maggie. She doesn’t have a normal LEGO figure body, but instead it’s sculpted to look like the dress she wears and even has that little bit that drags along at the end.

Overall, I think I’m going to give Maggie a 7/10!

In the next bag we got ourselves…

image

Nelson!

image

Nelson defiantly looks very mean. His face looks pretty menacing, and to complete it he includes a baseball bat (which I’m guessing isn’t for playing sport.)

image image

Heres a front a back look. Again,I really like his head. His scruffy shirt and jacket are done pretty well. His shorts and shoes are oddly the same colour, but it doesn’t really matter.

Im going to also give Nelson a 7/10.

In the third bag was…

image

Krusty!

image

Krusty is probably one of my favourites. I think the face looks fantastic, the body has a nice bow tie on it and it just all merged together great.

image image

Looking at him from the front and behind you can see just how great the head is. He has a devilish looking grin and a nice red nose.

image

He also comes with a pretty awesome cream pie. Interestingly enough, though, is that it’s the same colour as his makeup…… O.o

I absolutely love this Krusty, 9/10!

Now, be use this post is already really long I’m going to split it up into two parts. Hopefully by the next part I’ll have another one to add to the collection, so stay tuned as you don’t want to miss it!

Around the World: France

Hey guys, in today’s Around the World post, we’re going to be taking a look at France.

Image

France is a country located in Western Europe. It’s capital city is Paris, and it is most recognised for landmarks such as The Eiffel Tower, Mont Saint-Michel and it’s also home to the Mona Lisa.

Now, although France has been featured in at least seven episodes, there’s very little that could be added into the game. However, I’ve gathered what I could!

For characters I could only really find one of interest- Adil Hoxha. Adil is a ten year old exchange student from Albania, who went and lived with Marge and Homer while Bart and Lisa were in France.

Image

Whilst Adil was living with the Simpsons, he grew very attached to Homer. Touched by this, Homer treated him significantly better than his own children and eventually took him to work with him. Adil was fascinated with the power plant, and asked Homer a lot of technical questions, as well as taking lots of pictures. Homer told him everything he could and gave him a set of the power plants blue prints.

The reason for this, however, is that Adil was actually a spy for Albania. He had set up a communication device as well as a fax machine and was sending all the information back to his country. He was later caught, and deported back to Albania. Despite of him being a spy,the Simpsons were sad to him go.

For tasks, Adil could…

Examine American food (60 minutes, at the Kwik-E-Mart)

Inspect the Power Plant (4 hours, at the Power Plant)

Communicate back to Albania (6 hours, Tree House)

Be Homer’s Third child (12 hours, visual and a joint task with Homer)

Take Photos (24 hours, visual)

Moving on to the buildings. I couldn’t really find anything at all, except for the Eiffel Tower, if that even counts as a building.

Image

For tasks…

Eat at Attitude 95, the restaurant built within the Eiffel Tower (12 hours)

Eat at Jules Verne, the other ludicrously expensive (like, $190 per person!) restaurant within the Eiffel Tower

Climb the Eiffel Tower (Bart, 6 hours)

And finally, for decorations, we could have a French flag…

Thanks for reading this weeks addition of Around the World, see you next time!

Let’s Take a Look at: Mr. Largo

Welcome to this weeks edition of ‘Lets Take a Look at’, where today we are looking at the recently released Mr. Largo.

Image

Despite Mr. Largo being voted for the worst character ever created, there were a lot of people asking for him to be added into the game. Now, we finally have him due to the recent addition of level 40.

Dewey Largo first appeared in “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire”, which was the first official Simpsons episode ever created. He is the music teacher at Springfield Elementary and is well known for being able to make any piece of music boring, this was proven by Lisa. To add to this, the word ‘Largo’ is Italian for a piece of broad and slow music tempo.

A possible reason for his lack of musical talent is because as a child, he was accepted into Julliard School of Music. However, he never got the acceptance letter because the mail man who was supposed to deliver it got frozen atop Mt. Springfield.

As mentioned before, Largo is the music teacher at Springfield Elementary. He teaches Lisa and often gets cross at her for showing creativity, as is shown in the opening scene of every episode.

Image

In the episode ‘Flaming Moe’, Dewey meets his “soulmate”, also called Dewey, and claims to have quit his job to run of with Dewey.

^ The other Dewey.

So there’s all the interesting information I could find on Largo. There wasn’t much, but I still think he’s a great addition to the game!

Poll Results + New Poll!

Hey guys. So last week I asked you how you were doing on the Easter Box/Wheel… Here are the results!

Image

As you can see, pretty much a third of you, that’s nine people, voted for “I’ve Done Decently; I’ve got some of the prizes I wanted”. I would’ve voted for that option to, considering I’m only missing one or two prizes now. Three of you have been really lucky, where as two of you have haven’t been so lucky.

Now, moving on to this weeks poll. There has been a lot of speculation on wether the episode ‘A Brick Like Me’ will come with an episode tie-in. It’s been discussed quite a lot both on this site among others.

Before we discuss it a little more, here’s the trailer: ‘Brick Like Me’ Trailer

I personally don’t think we’ll get an episode tie-in. First of there’s the looming problem of licensing. EA doesn’t even want to pay for the rights to a characters voice, so it seems highly unlikely they’ll pay for LEGO’s brand. They are the second biggest toy company in the world, after all!

image

Secondly, the CGI style of the episode just wouldn’t fit into the game. Here’s a comparison between LEGO Homer and normal Homer, just by looking you can see that the LEGO counterpart just wouldn’t fit into the game.

image

Now it’s time to have your say. Vote below on wether or not you think they’ll be an episode tie-in!

Poll Results + New Poll!

Hey guys! Sorry this post is a few days late, I’ve been super busy!

Now, last week I asked for your opinions on the new, glorified, Easter Mystery Box/Wheel. Here are the results-

Image

So it’s clear that just over half of you agree with me in that it’s terrible. About a third of you didn’t have a problem with the wheel, and still aren’t affected by this one. About a sixth of you are on the fence about it, and a whole one person actually loves it.

The next poll is staying on the topic of the Easter wheel. I want to know how well you’ve done in getting the prizes, regardless of wether you’ve used donuts or not.

I’ve pretty much gotten everything I wanted, but I want to know your experience with the wheel!

Happy tapping!
